Time (lack of) is the biggest enemy of creativity. I have really enjoyed the second half of our Christmas vacation at home. We have had plenty of time to relax and work on some fun projects. It is amazing how easy it is to do housekeeping, cook, clean, take care of and play with James Henry when Clint is here. It also helps that I had very little photography work to do. He is back to work today, and we miss him already.
One of my favorite Christmas presents was some paints, canvas, easel, and the time to use them, from Clint. I use to paint a good bit, and forgot how great it is. I am not very good at it but I do enjoy it- It's the process that counts right?!

This is were Buddy usually stays (under my feet). I did not have the heart to tell him that he actually was not the subject of my painting and he really did not have to sit so still.

Clint used his free time to work on a rocking horse for James Henry- I cannot wait to see the finished product- He is quite the craftsman-

The littlest creator of us all, working on a piece inspired his grandad Lamar's birthday. He is anxious to get it in the mail today-
God is the ultimate creator and made us in His image. It brings me so much joy to reflect that by recognizng that I am a creative being. I feel so grateful that I have been given the opprotunity to be gainfully employed as an artist. First as a teacher and now as a photographer. I have really enjoyed this vacation time and that we were all able excersise our creative muscules. (Of course, you do not really need new paints and a canvas to be creative. Preparing a meal or organizing a closet dosen't always feel "artsy" but are in fact creative.) I hope that it is something that our family always values and celebrates.
