One time I told my hair dresser how great hairspray was.... She laughed at me and said, "Well, Duh! Are you just now figuring that out?!" For some reason I had stopped buying it for a couple of years and when a friend left some at my house I used it. I was amazed at how manageable and good-lookin' my hair was! This is similar to when I told my friend Teresa (who happens to be the Director of Women's Ministries at our church), how great it is to read the Bible every day. She smiled and laughed and said something similar to my beautician, "Well, YEAH! Glad you figured that one out!"
She was sweeter than that but I knew what she meant...
Something that I have always struggled with is spending time alone with Jesus everyday. I have never been able to have a regular "quiet time", to truly be in His presence. This is totally ridiculous considering that I know and believe with my whole heart that the purpose of my existence is to be in fellowship with God. That is why He made each of us. Not to be good, or to love our neighbor, or to work hard.... Those things just happen to come from the relationship that we have with Him (fruits of the spirit and what not). With my new book, (so far) I am excited and consistent with my devotion. Sarah Young writes as if Jesus is speaking to the reader, and it always speaks directly to my heart. I love it!
